Vallejo Model Air — IJA Dark Beige

Subject: Aircraft

Imperial Japanese Army dark beige — standard upper surface colour for IJA aircraft 1938–1942. Ki-43-I Hayabusa (1st Sentai), Ki-21-IIb Sally, Ki-30 Ann light bomber, Ki-46-I Dinah in early China and Pacific operations. Often over-sprayed with green mottle from 1942.

IJA Fighters — Early standard upper surface 1938–42

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
