Warhammer Colour Layer (Citadel Layer)

Warhammer Colour Layer paints, formerly Citadel Layer, are Games Workshop's finer, more translucent acrylics made for building up highlights. They flow smoothly off the brush, so you can apply thin coats over a basecoat to brighten raised areas, pick out edges and blend between tones.

Layer paints are the final stage of the classic Warhammer method: basecoat with a Base paint, shade the recesses, then highlight with one or more Layer paints. The range also covers metallics and many colours designed to step up from a matching Base paint. Each comes in a 12ml pot with its familiar Citadel colour name.
