Description
MNC180826901 - Minichamps 1/18 Porsche 956L 24h Le Mans 1982 Ickx/Bell
The Porsche 956 made its race debut in 1982 as Porsche’s answer to the new Group C regulations. It was Porsche’s first car with an aluminum monocoque and full ground-effect aerodynamics, powered by a 2.65-litre twin-turbo flat-six. Its first appearance at Le Mans was a near-perfect race. Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell started the #1 car from pole and led Porsche to a 1-2-3 finish. It was Ickx’s sixth Le Mans win and Bell’s third. The win began a run of dominance in which the 956 and its 962 successor won every Le Mans through 1987. This Minichamps replica depicts the winning #1 car in long-tail “L” Le Mans trim.
