MATPK-408 - Matchbox 1/72 BAC/PR.9 Canberra - WWWEB10108630
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
The English Electric Canberra was designed by W.E.W. Petter to Specification B3/45 and first flew in May 1949, proving so capable that it served the RAF for over half a century and was built under licence in the United States as the Martin B-57. The PR.9 was the ultimate reconnaissance variant, developed from the PR.7 with an offset fighter-style canopy, extended wings and more powerful Avon engines for very high altitude work, remaining in RAF service until 2006. Matchbox released this 1/72 kit in the 1970s, moulded in its familiar multi-colour plastic.
- Two-tone plastic sprues in dark green and grey
- Clear canopy and nose glazing parts
- Waterslide decal sheet with RAF roundels, fin flashes and stencils, and serials for three aircraft: XH168, XH170 and XH133
- Instruction sheet with aircraft history, specifications and a colour plan
- Completed model spans roughly 28 cm
