Description

GMP12004 - GMP 1/18 1966 John Surtees #3 Team Surtees Lola Spyder

John Surtees is still the only man to win world championships on both two wheels and four. In 1966 he raced a red #3 Lola T70 Spyder with a Chevrolet V8 for his own Team Surtees in the new Can-Am series. The very first Can-Am race was at Mont Tremblant in St. Jovite, Quebec, in front of a record crowd of over 50,000. Surtees took pole there and beat Chris Amon and Bruce McLaren to win. He went on to win at Riverside and Las Vegas too, which made him the first Can-Am champion.
