Eric Broadley's Lola designed the T160 for the 1968 Can-Am season, replacing the ageing T70 with a wedge shaped body over an aluminium monocoque and a mid mounted seven litre Chevrolet V8 rated at around 620 horsepower. John Surtees ran a further refined version with a tall rear wing and added oil coolers, earning it the TS designation. Against the works McLarens it was an uphill fight, but the car remains one of the more striking shapes of the era.
