Air Canada was one of the first North American airlines to order the Airbus A320. The first of its new fly-by-wire narrowbodies arrived in early 1990, replacing older DC-9s and Boeing 727s on routes across Canada and into the United States. C-FDQQ, fleet number 201, was the first A320 in Air Canada’s fleet. It wore the airline’s classic livery of that era: a white fuselage, a bold red window cheatline, “Air Canada” titles in red, and a red tail with the white maple leaf roundel. In 1993 Air Canada replaced that scheme with its green-grey livery, so the early red scheme on the A320 is a short-lived favourite with Canadian collectors. This B-Models replica depicts C-FDQQ as delivered.
