Description
AIRA03012V - Airfix 1/72 Handley Page Jetstream - WWHP113317
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
The Handley Page Jetstream was a sleek twin turboprop regional airliner aimed squarely at the American commuter market, and it very nearly worked: an order for 20 aircraft arrived before the design drawings were even finished, and re-engining with the Garrett TPE-331 brought a substantial USAF contract for the C-10A. Late delivery killed that order, and spiralling costs took Handley Page with it. Scottish Aviation picked up production, and the Jetstream went on to a long career as the RAF's standard multi-engine pilot trainer and later as a Royal Navy observer trainer. This is Airfix's Vintage Classics reissue of the 1969 tooling, with Roy Cross box artwork.
