US Light Ghost/Light Aircraft Grey (approx. FS 36375 / FS 36495 range) — lighter companion grey for low-visibility schemes, approx. 1970s–present. Applied to: F-14A/B/D Tomcat, F/A-18 Hornet/Super Hornet, F-16C/D, F-15C/D, AV-8B Harrier II, S-3 Viking, P-3 Orion (late), P-8 Poseidon, E-2 Hawkeye. Core component of ‘Compass Ghost’ and naval aviation schemes. Used from late Cold War through modern US Navy/USAF operations.

Weathering & modulation: Apply panel variation by highlighting with VLJ70951 mixed 1:10 into base.

Scale colour note: At 1:72 lighten 10% to maintain contrast against FS 36320.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
