The Takom 2122 1/35 Bergepanzer 2 is a detailed plastic model kit of the German Leopard 1-based armored recovery vehicle (ARV) used by the Bundeswehr and several NATO operators for battlefield recovery, repair, and heavy towing operations.

The real Bergepanzer 2 was developed in the 1960s as a dedicated support vehicle for Leopard 1 tank units. Built on a modified Leopard 1 chassis, it features a powerful winch system, a hydraulically operated crane for engine or turret removal, and a front-mounted dozer blade used both for stabilization during recovery operations and for light engineering work. It is typically armed with MG3 machine guns for self-defense and equipped with smoke grenade launchers, reflecting its frontline support role alongside armored formations.
