Description
TKM2086 - Takom - 1/35 M3 Grant
The Takom 2086 1/35 British Medium Tank M3 Grant is a highly detailed plastic model kit of the iconic WWII M3 “Grant” medium tank, the British-modified version of the American M3 Lee that served extensively in the North African campaign. Developed as a stopgap design in 1941, the M3 Grant combined a 75mm hull-mounted gun in a side sponson with a 37mm turret-mounted cannon, resulting in its distinctive stepped silhouette and unusual but effective battlefield layout.
The Grant became a key Allied tank during early desert warfare, where its strong armor and powerful main gun gave British forces a much-needed edge against Axis armor before the arrival of the Sherman. Its unique configuration and historical importance make it one of the most recognizable early WWII tank designs.
Takom’s kit captures the complex geometry of the M3 Grant with excellent surface detail, accurate rivet and cast textures, and a highly engineered breakdown of the hull and turret components. It typically includes link-and-length tracks, optional open/closed hatches, clear parts, photo-etched details, and finely detailed suspension elements, making it a rewarding build for WWII armor enthusiasts who enjoy historically significant and mechanically unusual vehicles.
