The BL 7.2-inch howitzer was one of the heaviest field pieces used by the British Army during the Second World War, created from 1940 by re-lining older WWI-era 8-inch howitzers down to 7.2 inches and fitting them to modified carriages with balloon tyres. Its four-charge ammunition pushed the range out to nearly 17,000 yards, though the recoil could cause the gun to rear back violently, so ramps were placed behind the wheels. It was typically towed by the Scammell Pioneer R100 artillery tractor. This is Thunder Model's 1/35 scale kit.
