The Scammell Pioneer began life as a civilian heavy haulage tractor with a walking-beam rear bogie that let it keep all six wheels on badly broken ground. The Army took to it for exactly that reason, and the R100 artillery tractor variant was built to haul the 7.2-inch howitzer and the 6-inch gun, carrying the gun crew and ammunition in a body behind the cab. Pioneers served from the Western Desert through to North West Europe, slow but very nearly unstoppable.

• Parts for one model with detailed chassis, engine, walking-beam rear suspension and winch
