TAMWL.D029 - Tamiya 1/700 Fubuki Japan Navy Destroyer - WWHP113826
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
Fubuki was the lead ship of the Special Type destroyers. When she was completed at Maizuru on August 10, 1928, she changed destroyer design around the world. She had six 12.7 cm guns in enclosed twin turrets and nine 61 cm torpedo tubes, and she could reach 38 knots. That made her far more heavily armed than any destroyer of her time, and navies around the world responded with larger, more powerful designs of their own. In the opening months of the Pacific War, Fubuki supported the invasions of Malaya and the Dutch East Indies and took part in the Battle of Sunda Strait. She was sunk by American cruisers and destroyers at the Battle of Cape Esperance off Guadalcanal on October 11, 1942. This classic Tamiya Water Line Series kit builds Fubuki in her pre-war configuration.
