Description
TAMWL.D035 - TAMIYA 1/700 Japan Navy Destroyer Hatsuyuki 初雪 Water Line Series WWHP112899
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
The Hatsuyuki was the third ship of the Fubuki class, Japan's revolutionary "Special Type" destroyers that set a new world standard for destroyer armament when introduced in the late 1920s. The class was initially troubled by hull-strength problems, demonstrated when Hatsuyuki's bow was damaged by heavy seas in a 1935 typhoon, prompting fleet-wide strengthening. She saw action off Malaya and at the Battle of Sunda Strait before being lost in 1943, and the kit depicts her with the increased anti-aircraft armament of her later service.
