Description
TAM20065 - Tamiya 1/20 Team Lotus Type 78 1977 - WWWEB10108812
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
The Type 78 was the first true ground effect Formula One car, built around a slim monocoque with long side pods shaped as inverted wings to generate downforce under the car. Mario Andretti won at Long Beach, Jarama, Dijon and Monza with it in 1977 and Gunnar Nilsson took Zolder, and the following year's refined Type 79 went on to take the championship. Tamiya released this Grand Prix Collection No. 65 kit in 2011, approved and licensed by Classic Team Lotus.
In the box:
- Styrene parts for the slim monocoque body, side pods and wings
- Full engine detail with removable body cowlings for display
- Detailed cockpit
- Photo-etched fret for radiator, wing end plates, brake discs and oil cooler
- Metal parts for the seatbelts
- Decals for two 1977 cars: Mario Andretti number 5 and Gunnar Nilsson number 6
- Instruction sheet with assembly and painting guide
