TAM20044 - Tamiya 1/20 Lotus 25 Coventry Climax - WWWEB10112647
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
Colin Chapman’s Lotus 25 changed Formula 1 when it appeared in 1962. Instead of the usual tubular steel space frame, it had a stressed aluminum monocoque chassis, which made it lighter, stiffer and much slimmer. The driver sat almost lying down, and behind him was a 1.5-litre Coventry Climax V8. Jim Clark won three Grands Prix in the 25 in 1962. In 1963 he won seven of the ten championship races and took the World Championship, and Lotus won the constructors’ title. Almost every racing car since has followed the monocoque idea. This Tamiya kit builds the 25 in Team Lotus green with its yellow stripe, with markings for car #4 or #1.
