Description
TAM20033 - Tamiya 1/20 Lotus Ford 102D Herbert Version - WWWEB10107544
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
The Lotus 102D was a rapid mid-season modification of the 102B chassis, redesigned to accept the Ford Cosworth HBA5 75° V8 in place of the Judd unit used in 1991. It served as a stopgap for the first five rounds of the 1992 season while the new Lotus 107 was completed. Running under Hitachi sponsorship with a revised green-and-yellow livery recalling the team's 1960s colours, the 102D scored two of Team Lotus's thirteen championship points in 1992. Both Häkkinen and Herbert drove it, with Herbert taking sixth in the South African Grand Prix opener. Original new-tool release from Tamiya, issued in 1993; kit #33 in the 1/20 Grand Prix Collection. The companion 20034 boxing covers the Häkkinen version.
