Description
IMAB-1831 - IMAI Thunderbirds TB-1 International Rescue - WWHP111435
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
Thunderbird 1 is the rapid-response rocket-plane of International Rescue in the classic Gerry Anderson supermarionation television series Thunderbirds (1965–66), piloted by Scott Tracy. Capable of Mach 5+ speeds, it was first on scene at any rescue to assess the situation and coordinate the response. Imai produced Thunderbird model kits from 1967 until the company went bankrupt in the mid-1970s, with moulds subsequently acquired by Bandai; the B-1831 is a later Imai issue from the early 1990s incorporating revised parts.
These are toy-oriented construction kits produced for the Japanese market, not scale model kits in the traditional sense — no defined scale is stated.
Box contents:
- Injection-moulded plastic parts — body in light grey, fins in bright blue
- 3 rubber wheels (undercarriage)
- Adhesive sticker sheet
- Instruction sheet (Japanese; English-language version included in Amerang UK import boxing)
