The Bf 109E-4 was the Battle of Britain variant of the Emil series, distinguished by the improved MG FF/M cannon in the wings and a revised canopy with heavier squared framing and provision for pilot armour. It equipped Luftwaffe fighter units through the summer of 1940 over France and southern England. Hobbycraft was a Canadian manufacturer, and this kit dates from 1992.
