Description
80373 - Heller - 1/72 Canadair CL-215 Waterbomber
Includes decals for C-FAFO belonging to the Province of Saskatchewan.
The Canadair CL-215 was the first purpose-built aerial firefighting aircraft, designed and produced in Montreal and flown for the first time in 1967. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radials, the amphibious hull allowed it to scoop a full load of water from a lake in a matter of seconds while skimming the surface, then return to the fire without landing. Around 125 were built, serving with Canadian provincial fleets including Ontario and Quebec as well as operators in France, Spain, Greece, and elsewhere.
Box contents:
- Injection moulded plastic sprues for one Canadair CL-215
- Clear parts for the cockpit glazing and windows
