The Toyota GB was a pre-war commercial truck adopted by the Imperial Japanese Army for airfield support duties, converted in modified form as an engine starter vehicle to turn over the large radial engines of aircraft such as the Ki-43 and Ki-61. Operating from forward airfields across China and the Pacific, these specialist vehicles were an essential but largely unsung part of IJA air operations logistics. Hasegawa's vintage Mini Box No.17 captures the Toyota GB in its starter truck configuration with an inertia starter cradle, accompanied by a bomb trolley, four 250kg bombs, and three ground crew figures.
