Description
HAS51521 - Hasegawa 1/24 Toyota Team Tom's Toyota 88C DENSO - WWHP111520
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Toyota 88C was Toyota's first serious Group C factory campaign, developed in collaboration with Tom's and powered by a turbocharged 2.1-litre inline-four. Introduced in 1988 with Minolta sponsorship, the car ran through the 1989 season in multiple liveries as Toyota built toward full WSPC competitiveness. At the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans, the DENSO-sponsored #38 entry — driven by Kaoru Hoshino, Noël del Bello, and Jean-Claude Ferrarin — retired from the race following a crash.
This is a late-1980s Japanese-market Hasegawa SP series release (kit 51521) of the 88C tooling with DENSO Le Mans decals. It is a curbside model with no engine or suspension detail. All plastic parts are moulded in white.
Box Contents:
- Plastic sprues — body, chassis, and detail parts (moulded white)
- Clear plastic sprue
- Rubber tires (×4)
- Polycaps
- Waterslide decal sheet (including tire lettering decals)
Markings included:
- #38 — Toyota Team Tom's / DENSO | K. Hoshino / N. del Bello / J.-C. Ferrarin | 24 Hours Le Mans, June 1989 | DNF
