HAS51394 - Hasegawa 1/72 TBM-3 Avenger 'USS Bunker Hill' - WWHP113844
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
The Grumman Avenger was the U.S. Navy’s standard carrier torpedo bomber from Midway in 1942 to the end of the Second World War. General Motors’ Eastern Aircraft Division built it under licence as the TBM, and the TBM-3 was the most-produced version. It had a more powerful Wright R-2600 Cyclone engine and a strengthened wing that could carry rockets, bombs or a torpedo. Avengers from USS Bunker Hill flew strikes across the Pacific, including the attacks on Japanese home waters and Okinawa in 1945. Bunker Hill was badly damaged by kamikaze hits off Okinawa on May 11, 1945, but survived. This Hasegawa kit builds a gloss sea blue TBM-3 from USS Bunker Hill, “301”, with the white arrow tail marking shown on the box art.
