Description
GUNG-472 - Gunze Sangyo 1/24 Ferrari F1-87 - WWHP111531
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Ferrari F1-87 was Mauro Forghieri's final F1 design for Scuderia Ferrari before John Barnard took over the technical direction. Powered by Ferrari's 1.5-litre turbocharged V6, it was driven by Michele Alboreto and Gerhard Berger in 1987, with Berger taking the car's only two victories at the Japanese and Australian Grands Prix in dominant fashion at the end of the season. The original tooling was produced by ARII in 1987; Gunze Sangyo issued this boxing in 1988. A companion rebox (G-476) covers the updated F1-87/88C specification. The kit features a motorizable chassis — a small electric motor can be fitted to allow the car to roll under its own power.
Note: This is a Gunze Sangyo kit at 1/24 scale — not a Tamiya product, and a different scale and manufacturer from the 1/20 Grand Prix Collection kits in this inventory.
