British Airways marked its 100th anniversary in 2019 by repainting four aircraft in heritage liveries from its history. The most famous of them was Boeing 747-436 G-BYGC, finished in the 1960s and 1970s colours of BOAC, the British Overseas Airways Corporation. BOAC was one of the two airlines that merged to form British Airways in 1974. Its retro scheme of white and dark blue with the gold Speedbird on the tail became a favourite with enthusiasts around the world. G-BYGC flew in BOAC colours until the COVID-19 pandemic brought forward the retirement of BA’s 747 fleet in 2020. This Gemini200 replica captures the centenary “BOAC” 747-400 in fine detail.
