Game Color, pre-thinned for the airbrush

Vallejo Game Air is the airbrushed version of the Game Color range — the same fantasy-focused pigments pre-thinned to the right consistency for direct use in an airbrush without additional mixing. Every colour in the range is designed for zenithal priming, base coating large armour panels, OSL effects, and smooth gradient work on Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar miniatures.

The range mirrors the Game Color line closely, making it straightforward to airbrush your base coats and transition directly to brush work using the equivalent Game Color colours for detail, shading, and highlights. The table below lists the closest Citadel (Games Workshop) equivalent for every colour, and the primary Warhammer application for each.

Airbrushing Game Air

Game Air is pre-thinned and ready to spray straight from the bottle through a 0.3mm or 0.4mm needle at 15–20 PSI. For fine detail passes or if the mix feels too thick at lower pressure, add a small amount of Vallejo Airbrush Thinner (VLJ71161) — typically 5–10% by volume is enough.

For smooth OSL gradients and wet blending effects, adding a few drops of Airbrush Flow Improver (VLJ71362) extends open time and prevents tip dry on long painting sessions. Do not thin with water alone — it breaks down the binder and causes paint separation.

The fastest way to base coat your army

Game Air removes the most time-consuming part of batch painting — base coating. A single pass through the airbrush covers a unit of ten infantry in the time it takes to hand-paint two or three. The pre-thinned formula means no mixing ratios to dial in, and the matte finish takes washes and layering colours immediately without any prep.
