Chevrolet's Cameo Carrier arrived in 1955 as the first factory pickup with smooth, flush-sided bed styling, using fibreglass rear fender skins to blend the box into the cab lines of the new Task Force trucks. Aimed at buyers who wanted car-like comfort and chrome in a half-ton, it paved the way for the Fleetside beds that became standard. The 1957 model added the distinctive trapezoid grille and hood spears that make it one of the most sought-after years.
