In 1955 Chevrolet introduced the Cameo Carrier, applying passenger car styling to a half-ton pickup. The most significant change was at the bed, where fibreglass outer panels gave the truck a smooth, slab-sided look in place of exposed rear fenders. The 1955 Cameo was offered only in Bombay Ivory with Commercial Red accents and a red and beige interior, and 5,220 were built.
