The Boulton Paul Defiant was the RAF's only turret fighter, carrying its four Brownings in a powered dorsal turret with nothing firing forward. It did well against bombers until Luftwaffe pilots worked out the blind spot, after which it was moved to night fighting and had a strong run during the Blitz.

This is Airfix kit A02069, their 2014 new tooling of the Defiant Mk.I in 1/72. Finely engraved panel lines and fabric effect surfaces, a detailed cockpit and turret, three canopy options, and the correct lowered rear decking option. Cartograf decals cover a No.264 Squadron aircraft at Martlesham Heath in 1940 and a black No.151 Squadron night fighter at RAF Wittering in February 1941. Skill level 1, 150mm long with a 166mm span.
