The M48 Patton had one of the longest development and service lives of any postwar tank, and the A5 rebuild kept it credible into the 1980s by swapping in the 105 mm M68 gun and a diesel powerpack. South Korea took the idea further with the M48A5K, adding side skirts, a laser rangefinder and other local improvements to hundreds of remanufactured hulls. This Academy kit builds either the Korean or the US Army version from the same box.

• Illustrated instruction sheet with history, assembly diagrams and marking guide
