WIL72214 - Williams Brothers 1/72 Northrop Gamma - WWHP113780
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
Jack Northrop’s Gamma of the early 1930s was a sleek all-metal monoplane. Its stressed-skin construction and multi-cellular wing fed directly into the Douglas DC-3 and the SBD Dauntless. Texaco sponsored racing pilot Frank Hawks in the Gamma 2A “Sky Chief,” and in June 1933 he flew it nonstop from Los Angeles to New York in a record 13 hours, 26 minutes. Polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth used the Gamma 2B “Polar Star.” In November 1935 he and pilot Herbert Hollick-Kenyon made the first flight across Antarctica, landing near Little America after their fuel ran out and finishing the last stretch on foot. This Williams Bros. Golden Age Series kit lets you build either aircraft in 1/72 scale.
- White plastic parts on one sprue in the sealed bag
