Vallejo Model Air — Ocean Grey

RAF Ocean Grey (approx. BS 629 / FS 36152 equivalent range) — introduced in 1941 as part of the Day Fighter Scheme replacing Dark Earth on upper surfaces, approx. 1941–1945. Paired with BS Dark Green and Medium Sea Grey. Applied to: Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V (late), Mk.VIII, Mk.IX, Mk.XII, Mk.XIV; Hawker Typhoon Mk.IB; Hawker Tempest Mk.V; de Havilland Mosquito FB.VI, B.IX, PR variants; Bristol Beaufighter TF.X; Mustang Mk.III (P-51B/C RAF), Mustang Mk.IV (P-51D RAF); late Hurricane Mk.IIc/IV. Used in Circus operations (1941–42), Dieppe Raid (1942), Normandy (1944), NW Europe campaign (1944–45), V-1 interception operations (1944).

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
