The Porsche 911 GT1 Evo was the evolved version of the original GT1, developed for the 1997 FIA GT Championship and Le Mans 24 Hours with revised aerodynamics and updated bodywork. Running in the Warsteiner/Mobil 1 factory livery, car number 6 was one of the most visually striking GT cars of the era — silver with bold purple and blue graphic elements replacing the splash design of the 1996 Mobil 1 cars. The GT1 Evo continued Porsche's push toward the outright Le Mans victory that would ultimately come with the fully revised GT1-98 in 1998.
