Description
UTM24001 - UT Models 1/24 Opel Calibra V6 DTM "Hasseröder" - WWHP111533
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Opel Calibra V6 4x4 was one of the headline competitors in the 1993–1996 DTM era, developed by the Joest team with Williams supplying hydraulics technology and Cosworth developing the 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated V6. Producing over 400 bhp through an all-wheel-drive system, the Calibra was fast and visually distinctive. From 1995 the car was campaigned by Opel Team Rosberg — Keke Rosberg's newly founded team — with Klaus Ludwig and Keke Rosberg as drivers. Ludwig finished third in the 1995 DTM standings, with victories at the Hockenheim finale. Keke Rosberg retired from active racing at season's end; a special "Bye bye, Keke" farewell variant of this same kit was issued as a separate boxing. Original new-tool release from UT-Models, 1995.
Note: This is a UT-Models kit — a German manufacturer, not Tamiya — covering touring car racing rather than F1 or sportscar prototype subjects.
