The Douglas DC-9-30 was the most commercially successful variant of the DC-9 family, featuring a stretched fuselage and increased-span wings over the original Series 10. Powered by two rear-mounted Pratt & Whitney JT8D turbofans, it entered service in 1967 and went on to serve with over 30 airlines worldwide. Delta Air Lines was among the largest DC-9 operators, building a fleet that became the backbone of its short- to medium-haul domestic network through the 1970s and 1980s.

This is a 1980 US market release of the original Airfix 1973 tooling, issued with Delta Air Lines decals.
