The Munitionsschlepper fur Karlgerat was a specialised ammunition carrier based on the Panzer IV Ausf D and E hull, produced to support the massive Karl-Gerat 040 self-propelled siege mortars. A total of 13 vehicles were converted -- two for each of the six operational Karl-Gerat weapons and one for the experimental seventh unit -- fitted with a small crane and a supply pallet to handle the 600mm mortar rounds. This is among the most obscure and specialised armoured vehicles of the Second World War.
