US fast battleships of the Second World War, including the North Carolina, South Dakota, and Iowa classes, combined heavy 16-inch main armament with the speed needed to operate alongside fast carrier task forces. Their crowded superstructures carried extensive radar arrays, cranes, boat davits, and railings that are difficult to represent convincingly in injection-moulded plastic. This photo-etched brass detail set adds those fine structures to a 1/350 scale kit.
