Description
TKM2170X - Takom 1/35 TKM2170X Jagdpanzer 38(t) Early Production
The Takom 2170X 1/35 Jagdpanzer 38(t) “Hetzer” Early Production is a detailed plastic model kit of the early variant of Germany’s WWII Jagdpanzer 38(t) tank destroyer, built on the Czech Panzer 38(t) chassis. Known for its extremely low profile, sloped armor, and efficient production design, the Hetzer became one of Germany’s most widely produced late-war tank destroyers, optimized for ambush tactics on both the Eastern and Western Fronts.
The early production version represents the first operational configuration introduced in mid-1944, featuring subtle differences in external fittings, mantlet design, and layout compared to later standardized production vehicles. Takom’s “2170X” release is a limited/variant boxing of their highly detailed Hetzer family, known for crisp molding, sharp weld textures, and accurate representation of the compact fighting compartment.
Takom engineered this kit with a focus on realism and build complexity, typically including a fully detailed hull, link-and-length tracks with realistic sag, optional open hatches, finely molded tools and fittings, and photo-etched parts for enhanced surface detail. It is a popular choice for modelers who want a clean early-war German tank destroyer without heavy field modifications or late-war improvisation features.
