TES563 - Testors 1/48 Westland Mark III Lysander - WWHP111592
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box damaged
The Westland Lysander was a British army co-operation and liaison aircraft that found its most famous role as a clandestine insertion and extraction aircraft for SOE agents in occupied Europe. Its exceptional short-field performance allowed it to land and take off from small, unlit fields in France at night, making it the primary tool of the RAF's Special Duties squadrons from 1941 onward. The Mk.III was the principal production variant, powered by the Bristol Mercury XX engine, and also served in air-sea rescue configuration with a fixed ladder and large external fuel tank.
A vintage 1978 Testors kit distributed through Microscale decals. Kit can also be assembled as the Mk.II using alternate decals included in the box.
Box Contents:
- Injection-moulded plastic parts (neutral primer grey)
- Waterslide decals (Microscale) — markings for Mk.III and Mk.II variants, code AC-L
- Instruction sheet
