Description

BS1207 - Tamiya 1/12 Ferrari 312B Big Scale - WWWEB10107153

Preowned, Resealed, Some parts off sprue, Box worn

Mauro Forghieri designed the Ferrari 312B for the 1970 Formula 1 season. Its 3.0-litre flat-12 engine was nicknamed the “boxer”. It sat low in the chassis, which kept the centre of gravity low and let clean air flow to the rear wing. It took a few races to sort out, but by the second half of 1970 the 312B was the fastest car in Formula 1. Jacky Ickx won in Austria, Canada and Mexico, and Clay Regazzoni won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, so Ferrari finished the season as the team to beat. In 1971 Mario Andretti won the South African Grand Prix in the 312B on his Ferrari debut. This classic 1/12 Big Scale Tamiya kit was authorized by Ferrari. It builds the 312B as the #3 car shown on the box art, with decals for the #3, #4 and #6 cars and their drivers’ names.
