TAM37028 - Tamiya 1/35 West German M47 Patton - WWHP111424
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The M47 Patton entered US Army service in 1952, combining the M46 hull with a new turret and 90mm M36 gun. Rapidly superseded by the M48, large numbers were transferred to NATO allies including West Germany, which received approximately 1,100 between 1956 and 1957. The Bundeswehr deployed them in tank and mechanized infantry units, fitting German-specific equipment including turret-mounted smoke dischargers and engine deck rain guards. The M47 served as West Germany's primary main battle tank until the Leopard 1 entered service.
