Description
TAM31407 - Tamiya 1/700 Hibiki Destroyer - WWWEB10110562
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Hibiki was one of the Fubuki-class "Special Type" destroyers, a revolutionary design when introduced in the late 1920s that outclassed all foreign contemporaries in speed, torpedo armament, and seakeeping. Hibiki was notable for surviving the war largely intact -- one of very few large Japanese destroyers to do so -- and was subsequently transferred to the Soviet Navy in 1947 as a war reparation, serving as the Vernyi until the mid-1950s. At the time of this kit's depiction she carries the as-modified armament of two twin 12.7cm gun mounts and three triple 61cm torpedo tube banks.
Part of Tamiya's 1/700 Water Line Series, designed for waterline diorama display.
