Description
2431 - Tamiya 1/24 Audi Quattro - WWWEB10112281
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Audi Quattro was unveiled at the 1980 Geneva Motor Show and changed both performance cars and rallying. It was the first high-performance car with permanent four-wheel drive. Under the hood was a 2.1-litre turbocharged, intercooled five-cylinder engine producing 200 hp, enough for 0 to 100 km/h in about 7 seconds. From 1981, the World Rally Championship allowed four-wheel drive, and the Quattro took the manufacturers’ titles in 1982 and 1984. Hannu Mikkola won the drivers’ title in 1983 and Stig Blomqvist in 1984, and soon every serious rally car had four-wheel drive. This vintage Tamiya kit builds the road-going Quattro coupe in silver, with a driver figure and a detailed engine bay.
