Built by German tuner Zakspeed for the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft, the Group 5 Capri took the family coupe to extremes, with a wind tunnel developed body that sat remarkably low and wide. Power came from a turbocharged 1427cc four-cylinder DOHC engine, and after debuting in 1978 the car scored wins in 1980 with Klaus Niedzwiedz driving for the D&W Zakspeed team. Tamiya's kit is officially licensed by both Ford and Zakspeed.
