The Lancer Evolution VII WRC was Mitsubishi's purpose-built World Rally Championship contender developed from the road-going Evo VII platform, carrying forward the turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder and active centre differential technology from its Group A predecessors. It debuted at the 2001 Sanremo Rally and competed through the first half of the 2002 season, driven by Alister McRae and François Delecour under the Ralliart banner.
