Toyota developed the 88C-V as its works Group C contender for the 1989 Le Mans 24 Hours, adopting advanced technology including a carbon fibre monocoque. Power came from a newly designed racing V8 with twin turbochargers producing around 800 hp. Tamiya's kit depicts the #36 Minolta Toyota run by Team Tom's in its bold blue and white livery.
