Description
16012(BS0612) - Tamiya 1/6 Honda Gorilla Z50J-III WWHP112870
Preowned, Resealed, Mint,Parts off sprue (Part of kit already begun)
The Honda Gorilla was introduced in August 1978 as the larger sibling of the Monkey, sharing the same 49cc air-cooled SOHC single-cylinder engine (also used in the Super Cub) but fitted with a distinctive oversized 9-litre fuel tank and a manual 4-speed gearbox. Where the Monkey used 5-inch wheels, the Gorilla ran 8-inch rims, and its visual identity was dominated by that swelled tank, which gave the bike its name. The Z50J-III designation refers to the third series variant of the Z50J platform. Production ran until 1992, resumed briefly in 1998, and the type developed a devoted collector following well beyond its original market. Tamiya's 1/6 Big Scale kit, first released in 1980, is part of the company's flagship motorcycle series and reproduces the bike to a high level of detail.
