The 1982 Suzuki RM250 was powered by a newly designed liquid-cooled two-stroke 250cc engine with flat valve carburettors, rated at a class-leading 43hp, and used Suzuki's Full Floater progressive rear suspension. A chrome-moly semi-double cradle frame kept it to just 97kg, making it the lightest bike in its class. Tamiya released this new-tool kit in 1983 as No. 13 in its 1/12 Motorcycle Series, and this is an early issue with the original 1413 kit number.
