The Airbus A321 is the stretched version of the A320. It first flew in 1993 and became one of the most successful single-aisle airliners ever built, flying with airlines worldwide, including Air Canada and Air Transat at home. Virgin Sun was Richard Branson’s short-lived charter airline. It was launched in the late 1990s to fly Virgin Holidays customers from the UK to Mediterranean sun destinations. Its Airbus fleet wore one of the brightest liveries in the skies: an all-yellow fuselage with big “Sun” titles and Virgin’s signature red tail. In 2001 the operation was sold to First Choice, so this colourful scheme flew for only a few seasons.
